>>...politically motivated revenge binge...and it's that the "torture" was completely effective

How can a mere portion of a sentence be so wrong in so many ways?

Well, as Pelosi's lawyer, I'd say she still has a few moves left. If it turns out she heard the term "waterboarding," she could say, "I didnt know what that referred to. I thought it meant (fill in excuse or benign technique of your choice) so it never occured to me that it would be a subject of controversy. And then she could say, I probably forgot I heard it talked about because it didnt register with me as a torture technique. I mean, there were all sorts of things discussed that day..and I dont recall that being spoken about for more than a few minutes if at all. I find it intersting that it was glossed over so casually if indeed they were speaking of torture. I'm calling for full investigation. And if my face could move, you'd see how irate I am. I'm just saying....

I'm going out on a limb here and say this investigation will burn a lot of people. Some of them will deserve it because they have blood on their hands and justice needs to be carried out lest the rot kills the body. On the other hand, others who were duped into believing doing evil work for the sake of good negates the bad will have some or all of their respect taken down because of it. In the end, this will hurt the GOP more because all this happened on their watch and playing the Jimmy Stewart from MISTER SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON card now will show just how insincere they really are about the public. To be sure, some Democrats will get nailed, through some fault of their own and not. About the only winners out of this will those wanting a break from the two-party system and those who just glory in the rage of chaos regardless of which prophet they're praying to or none at all.

Yes, we need an investigation and a cleansing, but it has to be set on a certain goal and clear of all politics. Otherwise, it's just another witch hunt benefiting only the dark and the foolish. At this rate, it's about the only course we have short of revolution.

Or Steve, isn't also possible that he really just wants a full investigation? It's not going to hurt anyone who is the FUTURE of the Republican Party (assuming we have one) and its the right thing to do.

And Doug TenNapel doesn't have access to those memos, yet makes an Alex Jones-like, completely wild leap of logic stating that, "They saved us, good team!" You have no evidence of that whatsoever. "What ifs" don't count either, but I heading you off at the pass, Doug, before you resort to that one too. What a laugh.

Obama has access to every document regarding our enhanced interrogation techniques. There's only one reason why Obama wouldn't go public with a massive Bush-Cheney-Gonzales politically motivated revenge binge...and it's that the "torture" was completely effective, saved perhaps thousands of lives and would make the 'failed policies of the last 8 years' look a whole lot more wise than the last 100 days of spending.

Take it to the bank, if it looked bad for Bush, there would have been an investigation.
