Good news, Obama… Bush is talking.

Well, it looks like the Obama administration got some slack cut to day, from the the last guy, the slacker-in-chief himself.

Former President George W. Bush has been remarkably reticent since Barack Obama took office, saying that the new commander in chief “deserves my silence.” Apparently, that’s no longer the case. At a speech in Erie, Pennsylvania Wednesday night, Bush broke his vow in all but word.

“I told you I’m not going to criticize my successor,” he said. “I’ll just tell you that there are people at Gitmo that will kill American people at a drop of a hat and I don’t believe that persuasion isn’t going to work. Therapy isn’t going to cause terrorists to change their mind.”

The critique extended to Obama’s domestic policy.

“Government does not create wealth,” Bush said. “The major role for the government is to create an environment where people take risks to expand the job rate in the United States.”

Asked during a question-and-answer session if he thought his successor’s policies were “socialist,” Bush began saying “depends on…” then stopped and concluded, “We’ll see.”

It’s funny, because just yesterday I was hearing all these reports about how Obama’s ratings on the economy were going down, because the longer he’s in office, the more people forget… it was Bush that caused the problems that Obama is dealing with right now.

And whatever little crank was on the side of the Jack-In-The-Box that’s being turned by a monkey in the cavern of Bush’s skull… it finally coiled enough and “POP!”  Here he is again.

Look, I won’t lie.  The last few weeks, I’m getting “change overload.”  It does feel like it might be a little too much, too soon.

But I also understand – Obama has two years to do things the way he wants to do them, and then he’s at the whim of an electorate in a non-presidential election year.  He may lose some Senators, Congressmen and momentum.  If he’s going to enact an agenda, it’s gotta be now.

I think this is why Fox News has been so ridiculously vile and pitbullish.  They know this.  They couldn’t wait 100 days to give him a chance to do well – that’s more than 10% of the time Obama has a mandate, and all three branches of government, to affect reform.

So… yeah, that makes me a little nervous.

But doing nothing makes me more nervous.

And nothing reminds me of that, more than the guy who flapped his yap yesterday.  Heck of a job, Bushie!

Unfortunately:

This guy is talking too… so I’m wondering if it ends up being a bit of a wash…
