Enemy of logic calls Obama “enemy of humanity.”

I know the right was having their annual Nutbagapalooza, but don’t any of them realize there are CAMERAS and PEOPLE and their words will carry over the heads of the small group of scardey-whites that attended this thing?

Apparently not.

A Republican member of the House of Representatives accused President Barack Obama of being “an enemy of humanity” during a conservative values forum this past weekend.

In a speech Saturday before the How to Take Back America conference, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) delivered a barn burner speech replete with inflammatory swipes at the president. At one point, the Arizona Republican demanded that Obama release his birth certificate to his constitutionally eligibility to hold office. The bluntest charge, however, centered on the president’s position on abortion, which the congressman derided as “insane” and godless.

Congratulation!  You just became the next contestant in “people Obama doesn’t have to listen to, ever, for the rest of his life!”

The distinguished Congressman from the state that dragged ass on a Martin Luther King day wants to see the nice President’s papers, and called him insane.  Now that is the foundation of an outstanding bipartisan dialogue.

Look.  I get it.  Phyllis Schaffley is there.  So is veiny bag of cats Michelle Bachmann.  If you don’t come up with something spectacular, you’re going to get buried under all the other wingnuts.

But “enemy of humanity?”  Really?  Who wrote your speech – Stan Lee?  Were you handing out torches and pitchforks with “Vote for Trent Franks” on them?

I find it hilarious that in the days of “Macaca” and “Joe The Plumber,” people still think they can give micro-speeches to small groups and it won’t bleed into their mainstream political debate.    Words travel.  Actions have consequences.  Nobody gets to live in a bubble anymore.

“Enemy of Humanity.”

Dude, shut up.  You’re embarrassing every other human being with opposable thumbs, and some shop teachers that only have one.

Sure, once again, the 20% on the fringe will hear this and do their crazy stupid Snoopy dance.  But I can’t help but hope that right-thinking people, calm-thinking people, are going to toss these screechy blowhards to the curve.

2010 is going to be an interesting election.   Poor Trent Franks.  Where does he go from here?  Rhetorically, the only thing he could do worse is release an ill-conceived facebook poll…
