It can really happen, the south! Check it out!

Let’s say you’ve got a school board.

And you’ve got some people on that school board that - I dunno - like Nazi stuff.

And lets say you think that’s unacceptable.

Well, sometimes dreams really do come true. Sometimes, those people can be kicked to the curb. Like Stephen Winkler.

Tonight, they booted this dirtbag out of his job and away from any say in a child’s development. Which means, it can happen anywhere, if parents have enough.

No matter where you live.

SAUGUS, SANTA CLARITA (KABC) — A Saugus school board member accused of being a Nazi was forced to respond to those allegations at a public forum Thursday night.

“I am not a Nazi,” Stephen Winkler said at the forum.

Despite his insistence, all four of his colleagues on the Saugus Union School Board voted to censure him.

A YouTube user account created in 2007 named “Stephen Winkler” “favorited” a video of the anthem of the Third Reich.

The user commented, “It’ my favorite song, I play it all day long, everyday.”

Its one of several Nazi-themed videos “favorited,” along with videos showing children riding around on small animals. Winkler insists he’s been hacked.

“I’m guilty of being very negligent with the Internet,” said Winkler.

The board investigated that and doesn’t buy it.

Board member Dave Bryce asked Winkler if he’s ever filed a police report.

“I went to the sheriff’s station and there was no deputy to take a report,” said Winkler.

When asked why he didn’t change his password or close his account, Winkler said, “I wasn’t aware this was going on.”

Winkler did admit to a recent post on Twitter in which he said, “A spirit of national socialism is encouraged by an effete core of impudent snobs, who characterize themselves as teachers of Saugus Union.”

Parents at the forum called on Winkler to step down.

“Tonight, I received quite specific orders from the Lord Jehovah to continue his battle right until the end,” said Winkler.

Parents warned him he doesn’t know what he’s up against.

“What you think is God on your side, you have not been up against the parents of the Saugus district,” parent Jackie McDougal told Winkler.

A recall petition is under way, and every single board member is asking him to resign.

On his Facebook page, Winkler showcases his love of Richard Nixon.

“Mr. Winkler is going to follow his example not to resign from the Saugus Union School board,” Winkler said to the parents.

I told Winkler that at the end of the day, Nixon did resign and asked him why he doesn’t resign too.

“Well, he was forced to resign,” Winkler replied. “Richard Nixon talked about the silent majority, and I believe there is a silent majority out there that will support me.”

School board members say there may be another way to get Winkler off the board. For the last three months, they’ve been investigating charges that Winkler lied about his address on several legal documents and doesn’t even live in the Saugus district. If that’s true, they may be able to force him vacate his seat.

WASHINGTON — In a rebuke to House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) has released the full transcript of a key interview with an IRS employee at the heart of the agency’s scandal.

The 200-page transcript sheds additional light on the decision by the IRS to screen out tea party groups applying for tax-exempt status during the months and years leading up to the 2012 elections.

Republican and Democratic committee staffers interviewed IRS official John Shafer on June 6 about the agency’s decision to scrutinize a tea party group’s application for tax-exempt 501(c)(4) status. Shafer, who identified himself as “a conservative Republican” and said he’d worked for the IRS since 1992, said that he and a fellow screener initially flagged a tea party group and continued to do so with subsequent applications in order to maintain consistency in the process.

Throughout much of the interview, Shafer describes the mundane bureaucratic challenges of dealing with incoming applications for nonprofit status. He said his team flagged the first tea party application because it appeared to be a high-profile case, and he wanted to make sure all high-profile cases received similar attention.

“What I’m talking here is that if we end up with four applications coming into the group that are pretty similar, and we assign them to four different agents, we don’t want four different determinations,” he said. “It’s just not good business. It’s not good customer service.”

Asked plainly, “do you have any reason to believe that anyone in the White House was involved in the decision to screen Tea Party cases?” Shafer replied, “I have no reason to believe that.”

“Do you have any reason to believe that anyone in the White House was involved in the decisions to centralize the review of Tea Party cases?” he was asked. “I have no reason to believe that,” he replied.

Asked if he had “ever communicated with [then IRS] Commissioner Shulman about the screening of Tea Party cases?” he replied, “I have not.”

Interviewers also asked Shafer if he told his screeners to specifically pull Tea Party cases.

“Again, I was not asking them for those kind of cases,” he said. “[I]f I would have directed them to pull our Tea Party cases, little Susie’s Tea Party would have been pulled and it wasn’t.”

A thought about Snowden from one of the friends of my Facebook page. Agreeing with much of this, especially that last sentence.

“Snowden’s latest leak about the G8 Summit proves to me that it’s just about leaking, not about fighting the man or informing Americans that they’re being spied upon. What does the average joe care if MI-6 spied upon the other nations of the G8 Summit?

How does that impact anyone’s life in the slightest? It doesn’t, but leaking this DOES disclose methods and systems which aid and abet our nation’s competitors and enemies, as does last week’s leak that the US has been hacking China non-stop for a decade.

Big deal! They do it to us every day, and I have an acquaintance that does the exact same thing in reverse. Why is that news? Why does America need to know that?

Prism is one thing, but each successive leak pushes me closer and closer to Dick Cheney’s suspicion that this Snowden guy is a Chinese spy. I mean, if you’re worried about freedom of speech and autocratic governments, why run to f***ing China?

And you KNOW how much I hate Dick Cheney, so that’s saying something.”

Yeah, see that’s why my taxes pay for cops. Actual, ideally well-trained individuals that want to shut a bad guy down with as little collateral damage as possible.

Or soldiers! Or the national guard. I mean, there are tons of places you can be what society considers “A good guy with a gun.”

Let me share something that will make you sad if you believe that first sentence: With 99.9% certainty, I can say there is very little chance you will ever, ever save the day drawing your gun on a “bad guy.” (*caveats for the rare moments it happens.)

You will never be the hero in a story like that unless it’s just you day dreaming as you are shooting tin cans off a fence or targets at a range. You’re never going to get a badge from the NRA that lauds your courage under pressure.

This is why there are so many more stories about mass-shootings and people accidentally getting shot than a person who happened to have a gun and happened to stop a crime.

And you know that.

So stop boring us with that justifications. You know in your heart you’ll never be that guy who pulls out a gun to save the day. You’re not the Lone Ranger. You’re not Dirty Harry. You’re not John McClane.

You’re just a guy who likes guns and that’s more important to you than anything, including the possibility that mentally ill or dangerous people could kill a lot of people with the same gun you love to hold and look at dreamily.

So just own that.

You might never be a hero, but at least you won’t be delusional and you won’t be lying to yourself anymore.

On Monday, a majority of Senate Republicans voted to continue debate of the disastrous ‘Gang of Eight’ amnesty bill, surprising many when the vote easily cleared the required 60 threshold, 82-15.

The reason many Republicans trust that a bill they haven’t even read will “secure the border first” is because Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has assured them it would – endlessly. He even wen’t on a record-tying FIVE Sunday news shows to assert this (and a avalanche of other lies), and assured audiences he would never back a bill that did not secure the border first, before amnesty. And Rubio claimed the Gang’s bill did exactly that.

Yesterday, Rubio made fools of many of his colleagues – who should have known better anyway – and was exposed as a bald-faced liar after being caught making totally different claims about the bill – on Spanish and English media.

If you were listening – on either side of the issue – Rubio told you exactly what you wanted to hear.

In a Spanish-language interview Sunday with the network Univision (video here, translation here) Sen. Rubio made his strongest statement yet that legalization of the nation’s tens of millions of illegal aliens must happen before any new border security or internal enforcement measures are in place, and will in no way be conditional on any security requirements.

Let’s be clear. Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence. What we’re talking about here is the system of permanent residence. As for the legalization, the enormous majority of my colleagues have accepted that it has to happen and that it has to begin at the same time we begin the measures for [the border]. It is not conditional. The legalization is not conditional.

To put it mildly, this is very different from what Rubio has told English-speaking audiences, especially on shows like Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh – who were instrumental in helping the former “Tea Party darling” prevail in his tough Senate primary in 2010. For months now, Rubio has repeatedly, endlessly, claimed that border security would come first, before any legalization. Rubio has further asserted that he could and would never support a bill that didn’t secure the border first.

In a nutshell, he lied through his teeth to these hosts who constantly praised him as a “good guy”, “honest”, “conservative”, Senator they supported. While we activists screamed “snap out of it” they continued like this for months, praising Rubio’s “effort to solve the problem” while ignoring dozens of articles and analyses proving that his claims were full of lies.

His greatest talker champion has been the disappointing Sean Hannity, who infamously announced after the 2012 election that had “evolved” on immigration, and supported a “pathway to citizenship” for tens of millions of illegals. Hannity has repeatedly stood by Rubio, even when other began to realize what we activists had been screaming: Rubio is lying, stop promoting him.

But yesterday, something changed. Rush Limbaugh seemed confused, expressing “disappointment” with Rubio. Even Rubio’s greatest “conservative” champion Hannity seemed to finally get that something was amiss.

Hannity asked Rubio about the Univision interview. Rubio responded with his usual technique, familiar to anyone who has ever negotiated a used car: talk faster, and change the subject. It didn’t satisfy Hannity as it has in the past.

“Why wouldn’t it be better to just secure the border first totally and then move forward with dealing with the 11 million people or so that are in the country illegally?”

“That’s how I felt at the beginning, too,” Rubio answered, “The problem I encountered is what do I do in the meantime — ”

“How about nothing?” Hannity interrupted.

Rubio gave his usual canards: we have to “know who’s here” so we can “deport the criminals” (How? Are they are going to turn themselves in?); we have to “freeze the problem” or more illegals will come in (How? Without a border fence, illegals will just stop coming in out of courtesy to Marco?); etc. Absurdities all.

Hannity twice returned to Rubio’s statement on Univision. “You understand that people read the interview,those of us that didn’t speak Spanish, and it was interpreted as first comes legalization, then comes secure the border, that legalization is not conditional. I think you would then understand why people thought this.”

“Right,” Rubio said. “So maybe, I probably should have been more artful in the use of terms.”

“The Artful Liar”. Terrific. And what is especially disturbing is his saying one thing to Spanish-speaking audiences, and the exact opposite in English. This is exactly what terrorists like Yasser Arafat have done for years – promising “peace” in English and “jihad” (holy war) to Arabic audiences. We know who always got the truth from Arafat.

Are there any conservatives out there who still support or trust this guy?
