Ever since the idiocy of “Balloon Boy,” I have been pining for the moment where fame-whores finally cross a line, and face serious repercussions for their stupidity.
Maybe here. Maybe this.

Ever since the idiocy of “Balloon Boy,” I have been pining for the moment where fame-whores finally cross a line, and face serious repercussions for their stupidity.

Maybe here. Maybe this.

AP – Tareq and Michaele Salahi, the couple who crashed the White House state dinner, may face criminal charges, the Secret Service announced today.

Jim Mackin, the agency’s spokesman, said this is one reason the Secret Service has kept mum about what happened when the couple, who are auditioning for the Bravo reality show “The Real Housewives of DC”, arrived at the security checkpoint Tuesday. They were not on the guest list for the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but managing to get into the party, where they posed for photos with Vice President Joe Biden and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

“As this moves closer to a criminal investigation there’s less that we can say,” Mackin said. “I don’t want to jeopardize what could be a criminal investigation. We’re not leaving any option off the table at this point.”

By now, you know the story. A couple of empty-souled “socialites” desperately
trying to get onto “The Real Housewives of DC” somehow managed to crash a
state dinner.

You also know by now, they managed to come in contact with the
President of the United States.

For the rest, head on over to HUFFPO.

I’m back.
So, from Huffpo:
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said in a speech Wednesday that the Obama White House is trying to “control the people.”
Palin was introducing Michael Reagan — the son of former President Ronald Reagan — to an audience in Anchorage. She and took the opportunity to educate her audience on the ways in which [...]

Hi.

I’m back.

So, from Huffpo:

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said in a speech Wednesday that the Obama White House is trying to “control the people.”

Palin was introducing Michael Reagan — the son of former President Ronald Reagan — to an audience in Anchorage. She and took the opportunity to educate her audience on the ways in which the president’s policies “fly in the face of principles” and “defy Economics 101.”

CNN reported on the speech:

“Since when can you get out of huge national debt by creating trillions of dollars of new debt?” Palin asked. “It all really is so backwards and skewed as to sound like absolute nonsense when some of this economic policy is explained.”"We need to be aware of the creation of a fearful population, and fearful lawmakers, being led to believe that big government is the answer, to bail out the private sector, because then government gets to get in there and control it,” she said. “And mark my words, this is going to be next, I fear, bail out next debt-ridden states. Then government gets to get in there and control the people.”

Ah, right. We need to stop scaring people.

Shocked, you didn’t raise the 9/11 boogey man at the same time, but perhaps even Sarah Palin was smart enough to realize that would get busted as hypocrisy.

Which is surprising, really.

This is a woman who took from big oil (which is okay) to give to the people (again, okay) hypocritically complaining about using government’s ability to use money to sway people (Not okay.)

She needs to learn a lesson from Jimmy Carter. Yes, that’s right, Jimmy Carter.

Shut up. Regroup. Realize the people see you the way they see you. Then, return with a new mission, a calmness rather than a desperation for attention, and move on to the next stage of your life.

I know it sucks to be a national punchline.

But the easiest way to stop being a joke is to stop retelling it.
